Lions hit with
fluke goal. |
|
|
The formation was
changed to a 1-3-3 to make us solid at the back and contain the
goal threat of Thorpe Bay. In defence we were extremely strong
and the home team found it difficult to break through our
rearguard. |

Thorpe Bays luck
changed when Ryan's goal kick went straight to a Bay player near
the half way line who returned the ball which taking a big
bounce back over Ryan bobbed up into the roof of the net. There
seemed to be a moment of disbelief from both sides before Thorpe
Bay started their celebrations. The goal could only be described
as a fluke. |

Towards half time
Charlie P chased a through ball into the Bay area. Being under
pressure from Charlie the defender raised his arm which struck
the ball earning us a penalty. Charlie bravely stepped forward
and although struck cleanly the goalkeeper chose correctly and
made a brilliant save. |

|
As we moved into the
second half both teams created chances which drew fine saves
from the respective goalkeepers. Ryan at times keeping us in the
game. (At the end being named Man of the Match). |

Every player should
be really pleased with themselves. You all gave all the effort
you had, kept going and never gave up. |

The team looks more
solid with each game that we play. |

Well done to all the players, you all played your part in an
enjoyable game. |
