Forest Finish on a High

It is fair to say that the team performances in the last two matches have been exceptional and that we have been very unlucky. In the last 3 halves of football I have only counted two shots on target at our goal. This is testament to all the hard work each of the boys has put in, not only in these games but over the season. The boys have never let anyone down.

Today from the off, we applied pressure on the Trinity goal from the start. The spirit within the team was evident. We looked physically strong and at the end it looked like we were ready to play another game. The Trinity boys on the other hand knew they had been in a game and looked tired and jaded after being given the run-around.

As people say in football, we were "all over them" from the start until the last minute. At half time Paul had difficulty in picking who to substitute as every player had been exceptional and put in powerful performances. If the first half was anything to go by things seemed to get better in the second half as we created more chances. Shaun had 4 chances, Tom 1, Louis 2 and Charlie 2, the result really did not tell the full story. We hit the post twice!

Ryan and Jack did their jobs in goal when called upon. Jack, Danny and Lloyd all performed brilliantly at the back. Shaun as normal was everywhere. Joe, James and Tom were excellent in Midfield and Charlie's performance for the whole game was amazing.

Louis proved dangerous upfront with a couple of great shots and some good corners.

Paul summed it all up at the end when he said "there were 10 Man of the performances out there today".

To me it felt like we really had won the game and I'm pretty sure all those present would have felt the same. Again, you all did us proud.

Maybe, we should have the clocks go forward every Saturday night!

We now have another new challenge. 11 a-side football starting next week. So although the league has finished we still have plenty of football to look forward too.
