Guts not quite enough |

With honours even
against the Rockets, it was always going to be a close game but
after 3 minutes an individual effort by their tall number seven
seemed to confirm a one sided contest with a great finish. But
one thing we can count on is that the boy’s heads never go down.
They battled for every ball and after 18 minutes of stalemate
Mathew took the chance to level the score from just outside the
6-yard box with a rising shot and plenty of power. |

The game then
took on a completely different feel, end to end chances with
very fast play. Rockets edged ahead with a rather soft goal but
Alex matched the score again. It was a free kick taken by Harry
with all midfield and stickers gambling on pressurising the
defence. The plan worked, with a lopping free kick, Alex got on
the end of mis-cleared ball to hit the roof of the net |

The second
half started in a frenetic manner as well but within 15 minutes
the Rockets had put in another three goals to make it 2 –5.
Forest dug deep and hit back with vengeance. James' run down the
right had Harry clear, and he made no mistake. Within two
minutes Alex B had another attempt and again made no mistake
with a great shot to the left hand corner of the goal giving the
goalkeeper no chance. Some of the Rockets made gesturers to come
off, the pace was just to much, attack after attack was made on
the Rockets goal but time was not on our side and the whistle
blew. |
