A hard fought point |
|
|
Starting with a 4-4-2
formation Forest Glade started the game against a determined
Shore team with a few changes to the team. Liam Andrews was
handed the captaincy and slotted into the defence alongside
Reece and flanked by DJ and Daniel Schormanns. |

|
From the off it
quickly became apparent that the game would ebb and flow from
end to end, and would be a physical contest. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
After some early
pressure from Shore, Forest managed to soak it up and then
pushed on and had early chances from Harry and Alex Bourner. |
|
|
|
|
| The
first goal came from a Shore Athletic goalkeeper clearance that
found the ball at Mathew's feet, who from 30 yards out hit the
ball sweetly over the keeper's head and into the back of the
net. A great finish! |

|
|
| Again
the game moved from end to end with the centre of midfield
getting congested at times with Tom and Mathew working
tirelessly to break up play, however, Shore managed to push
forward and managed to grab an equaliser. |

|
Forest were
determined to go into the break ahead though and after some good
link up play between Harry and Billy the ball was rifled across
the goal with ‘Hoops’ chasing into to tap in at the back post. |

|
Half time and we made
some changes, bringing on Rob for Hoops and Ryan for Daniel.
Shore wasted no time in trying to take the game to Forest and
suddenly we found ourselves 2-3 down. Aqib replaced DJ and Alex
H replaced Alex B as Forest made sure the squad all played a
part. Forest's equaliser came from some good passing that saw
Tom pass the ball into H who heard Billy calling as he ran into
space down the wing, H split the defence with his pass as Billy
ran onto it to hammer the ball in the corner. 3-3. |

Again we pushed
forward in the final 10 minutes and as the ball was lobbed over
the goalkeeper's head Billy side footed coolly from a narrow
angle to restore the lead to Forest. |

|
With minutes to go we
battled hard and tried to restrain the Shore pressure with some
excellent defending and some super saves from Alex W in goal. |
|
| |
|
|
However the pressure
finally paid for Shore as they headed in from a corner to leave
the score at full time 4-4. |
