Better Luck This Week

Following last weeks performance, the team needed to gather themselves and put in a good performance. This was not assisted by the absence of four key midfielders.

Right from the off the team bonded together, Valley had some very fast and skilful forwards but the defence stood as solid as ever, and against the run of play a half hearted shot had the ball defended but mis-kicked straight into the back of the Valley net.

Valley came back with a vengeance but two minutes later Forest were two up with a shot at the goal being initially saved but the ball bounced upwards over the keepers head and into the goal.

From then on Valley's heads were down but they attacked time and time again. Forest had a number of chances but could not put the game out of reach, an individual effort from the Valley attacker saw the game come back to 2 -1 but from then the Forest Defence held solidly and was never really in danger.

A good win with Man of the Match - Alex Williams for save after save and some very brave defence.
