Continue the good Work

Building from last week’s game, could we continue and give a creditable performance. The match was a later one starting at 2pm and the day was unseasonable hot. Again it took a short while for Forest to take control of the game, but from the first touch it was obvious to all supporters that the quality of passing would only lead to opportunities later in the game.

The breakthrough came after 17 minutes and from a free kick for offside. The kick sailed over the defence for Harry to run onto, a lob over the keeper and we were one up. The second came from a fast run up the wing by Billy, an excellent cross into the goal area had two chances for a goal as the attack beared down on the Elmwood goal, it came to Rob who made no mistake with a brilliant finish. The goal fest continued and after 23 minutes the third goal was from the midfield, Tom placed the ball ahead for Alex to run onto, the keeper dived right but Alex shot left as if he had all the time in world.

Robert secured his second closely followed by Harry twice to complete his hat trick. The second half had us under more pressure with some of the key players rested but Alex made it seven with Elmwood catching a few goals on the break and against a tired defence.
