Scintilating Glade Catching the Eye

Forest produced a truly scintilating display at Barleylands on Sunday, producing a five goal blast in the second half after somehow being a goal down at half time. From the first whistle Forest created chance after chance, and amazingly didnt convert one of them. With half time approaching, Shoesbury's only shot of the half produced a goal from nothing to shock the home side.

The second half began with Forest piling on the pressure. Within 5 minutes the outstanding Jimmy Jones produced another moment of power, with an unstoppable drive from 25 yards which the keeper never saw. This was the vehicle Forest needed and from then on never looked back. The second followed 15 minutes later when Jones again broke free and coolly slotted home after good work from Steven Bourner. The floodgates beckoned, Forest scored again to wrap things up through David Cooper and John Masser marked an impressive performance on the left hand side of midfield with a well taken effort. The hard working Cooper had time to make it 5 two minutes before the end.

Next week sees Forest taking on the current leaders Elmwood Colts, which has now taken on massive importance as a victory could see the team go top and mount a very serious title challenge.
