Cup Heartbreak for Super Glade

Forest produced a quite brilliant performance against Hadleigh Town and made the two league differential look like it did not exist. From the outset Forest produced some scintillating football and were unlucky not to go in at half time at least a goal up. Rhys Hooper hit the bar with a stunning header just before half time and Jimmy Jones just failed to connect with a left foot volley as the score remained 0-0 at the break.

The second half began with Forest conceding a scrappy goal but within 10 minutes they were level through the hard working Steven Bourner who latched onto a mistake by the Hadleigh keeper. Straight after that good work by Jimmy Jones led to David Cooper volleying home a great goal and for the first time in the match Hadleigh looked beaten. With 5 minutes to go however the Hadleigh centre forward stole in before keeper Marcus Parsons could reach the ball and equalised. Extra time ensued and Parsons kept Glade in it with a string of brave saves before an unstoppable effort beat him a minute before time.

Total and utter heartbreak for the lads, but if they play like this in their own division for the rest of the season they would win the league by a mile. The back four of Sabberton, Wild, Good and Adams were awesome and were aided up front by the hard working Rhys Hooper who worked tirelessly throughout.

In essence this defeat should be viewed as a moral victory, and the team should go onto benefit.
