Tigers 2nd Half Curse Broken

The Tigers have suffered from second half nerves over the past few weeks but were determined today to put that behind them as they faced up to the Lions.

The first half started well with the wind in our favour. The Lions kicked off but the Tigers went on attack with Daniel tearing through the Lions defence to have an early shot on goal which was just deflected off the woodwork but just wouldn’t cross the line. The Tigers kept on the attack and were rewarded with a free kick. Josh lined up the shot but the wind took it behind for a goal kick.

There was good play from the midfield with runs on goal from Joe with George D just unable to finish.

By the end of the first half the Tigers had had five chances on goal to the Lion’s one.

The second half started with the Lions pushing more into our half which required some strong defending from George B and Ross D. After 10 minutes Rhys collected the ball just inside the Lions half and started a move forward. Luke and Joe were in the middle to receive the pass but Rhys saw his opportunity took a shot at goal and scored 1:0 to the Tigers.

The Lions came back with two runs on goal but some more defending from George B, Josh and Daniel with some excellent goalkeeping from Ross P kept the score line to 1:0

The Tigers kept on the attack with another run from Daniel, Rhys, Joe and Luke with the ball finally coming to Luke who just couldn’t turn the ball into the net.

Overall the performance from the Tigers represented a well deserved win over the Lions.
