Forest Weather the Storm |
The game was
played in awful conditions with a pounding wind and driving
rain. |
The previous
day we had 14 players available and overnight we lost 3 players
to sickness and injury and as a result we had to shuffle the
team about, with some players in positions that they would not
ordinarily have been used too. |
James came
in at right back and did an excellent job and his Man of the
Match award was well deserved for his efforts. Lloyd played at
centre back and was not far behind James in being Man of the
Match. Danny & Tom were productive where they needed to be. Oli
seemed to be a spectator by and large, but I certainly would
have preferred to have been out on the pitch than standing on
the sidelines. |

Due to the
weather Supreme were hardly able to get out of their own half in
the first half and we created chance after chance. The first
goal was a beauty from Shaun as the keeper took a goal kick,
Shaun returned the kick with interest and the ball floated over
the keeper and into the net, 1-0 to the Forest! |
Charlie then
had what looked a perfectly good goal disallowed after the
keeper spilled a shot for offside. |
However,
shortly after Charlie got some of the action and hooked in a
good goal, giving us a two goal cushion. |
We had a
feeling Supreme would come out a different side in the second
half, with the wind, but we were on top of our game and
continued with the same effort that we had in the first half.
Within a minute of the re-start Charlie raced through and poked
the ball under the keeper for a well taken goal 3-0. |
10 minutes
later Shaun got another with an expertly taken left footed shot
which from one side of the 18 yard line which went across the
keeper into the far corner 4-0! |
We continued
to have good possession and there were many instances and great
play to note. Robert, Perry, Luke and Wayne all had great games
and we came off at the end worthy winners. |
Another
great result against a team who have scored lots of goals. Well
done to all the boys. |
We can look
forward to our next game full of confidence. |
