The team was
changed around due to Oliver being missing, Tom feeling unwell
just before the game and Kieran also being out injured. Wayne
stepped in for his debut in midfield.
The first
half went really well and we had most of the possession and just
did not take the chances that went our way. Robert hardly had a
save to make. A minute before half time the ball dropped to
Shaun inside the penalty area and he rammed a shot to the right
of the keeper putting us 1-0 up!
It seemed as
though a different team went out for the second half and we
looked jaded and found it hard to get into the game. Fairfax
seized the initiative and could could have scored on a couple of
occassions but for some last ditch defending and goalkeeping.
We cracked
after about 10 minutes and a Fairfax player beat a couple
players and with a well taken shot beat our keeper to make it
1-1.
Although
neither team looked likely to win and for the neutral a draw
seemed about a fair result, we pressed late in the game and
found fresh impetus.
In the last
minute after a Fairfax lunge we were awarded a penalty and up
stepped Wayne to coolly tuck it away. 2-1! Another win under our
belts.
