Forest Hit Six!

What a fantastic performance. Full of pace, energy and desire together with individual skill and flair. You don't often get days like this to savour!

We were missing Jack and Louis to illness and Perry due to family commitments.

Hullbridge had only lost one of their last 4 games and conceded 2 goals in that time, so we did not expect an easy game.

In the first minute, Shaun made an impressive run down the left side and crossed for Luke to coolly smash the ball home, 1-0.

Wayne fired in two superb goals, to make it 3-0 after 12 minutes. The first from an accute angle lifting the ball over the keeper with the ball nestling in the far corner of the net, with the second an unstoppable shot from outside the area which gave the goalie no chance.

Charlie then got in on the act and again had a looping shot from the edge of the area which evaded the keeper to make it 4-0 after 15 minutes.

The defence kept Hullbridge at bay when needed, but every player in the front six was on fire! We were winning every ball, every tackle and taking our chances.

Robert got the chance to make it 5-0 with a well taken shot just before half time.

In the second half we continued to have the most of the possession and our dominance did not result in further goals till late on when Charlie received the ball out on the right and again took a shot which bounced once passed the keeper into the far corner, 6-0.

Oli was hardly tested and in the conditions I was half expecting to find him frozen to the goal line at the end, however after Hullbridge were awarded a penalty which would have been mere consolilation, Oli pulls the cat out of the bag and makes a brilliant save to deny Hullbridge a goal.

This stunning win was our best to date and gives us 5 wins from 6 in the league.

Every player was absolutely superb and gave it their all and reaped the rewards. More of the same for next week please.
