Forest do Double over Trinity E

Again, Trinity gave us a difficult game earlier in the season, which we won by the only goal of the game. They seem to be a good attacking side scoring plenty of goals having one of the best goals FOR in the league.

Again, we were in for a difficult game. Both teams started brightly, however I would say we seemed to be shading the possession and creating better chances however their goalie was in inspired form. Likewise, Oliver was being called upon more so than recent games and Trinity hit our post after a good opening.

At the other end a goal bound effort was saved on the line by a defender from which the referee awarded us a penalty. Wayne coolly stroked home the ball. 1-0 to the Forest.

James came on a half time, and we still created chances to extend our lead, Shaun weaved his way into the box and with a good shot made it 2-0. It was just what we deserved for our efforts.

Within a few minutes Wayne ran into the box and was fouled when a defender made no attempt to get the ball and clearly hacked at Wayne, the ref had no alternative but to award another penalty.

Wayne pulled himself up to make it 3-0!

It was a good team performance, however similar to last week we looked a bit jaded and short of energy, maybe we need the xmas break. We somehow keep getting winning results and this is testiment to all the HARD WORK the boys put in at training and the games.

Who would have thought at the beginning of the season we would be top of the league come Christmas!

HAPPY CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
