Ramblers hold on against The
Glade! |
We were confident
going into the game after last week’s tremendous performance and
result. |
Today’s was a hard
fought match in difficult conditions. |
We started the match
against a strong wind, and the Ramblers seemed to make the most
of this advantage. Both goals came from drop kicks which evaded
all defenders for the striker to run onto and give Oliver no
chance for each goal. Oliver made a great save to keep the score
at 2-0. We still had the lions share of possession and created
good chances from the flanks to get on the score sheet, however
luck did not go our way. Most teams could have given up at 2
goals down, however the boys have a great sense of belief and
determination. |

The second half was a
totally different matter, I could not recall Oliver touching the
ball or the defence needing to do a great deal. We were camped
inside the Ramblers half. Perry scored two poached goals within
the first four minutes of the half, both made by Shaun and you
sensed a third goal was not far away. We created so many chances
and Ramblers seemed to be hanging on by the skin of their teeth.
We hit the post, crossbar and did everything we could but score
the third goal. |

That’s football
though and you cannot win every game, we could be disappointed
not to have won but at least we got a point and did not lose.
Things could easily have been so much different. |
Another great
performance and we look forward to the next game. Well done to
all the boys. |
