Sweet 16 for Forest Glade

This early morning clash saw Forest Glade play the bottom of the table strugglers, Hambro Colts.  Unfortunately for Hambro, they could only field 10 players so it would be a tough game for them.

Forest started well with a very early goal within just a few minutes from Lewis Farrier.  Credit to Hambro, the next 10-15 minutes was tight, and even though Forest were not too troubled, they also couldn't repeat the early goal.  Several shots were made, but mostly straight at the Hambro keeper or wide.

However, for the remainder of the half, a few more goals went in and the Hambro heads dropped making a few extra goals inevitable and a very comfortable 9-0 scoreline for Forest Glade at half time.

The second half was similar, with Forest having most of the chances and more goals to come.  The Hambro goal came from a free-kick just outside the Forest box very expertly placed into the top corner by the Hambro captain.  Obviously it was going to be a comfortable win, but the Forest lads attitude and professionalism towards their struggling opposition was excellent - there was no sillyness or showing off - just going to show the respect our team had for the Hambro side that battled right to the end.

It was great to show a good performance and a flurry of goals, but we mustn't be fooled into thinking all of our games will be like that - we got some tough ones to come.
