John Masser
scored two vital goals to hit Elmwood where it hurts to record
an excellent first win of the season at Barleylands on Sunday.
Things started
well for Forest when Peter Wild rose to head in a David Cooper
corner after 15 minutes. Forest then dominated but couldn't add
to the first goal and half time came with the score at one nil.
The second
half began with Lee Mulreany running onto a Callum O'Shea
through ball and smashing into the bottom corner for two nil.
Amazingly the linesman held his flag up for offside but after
consultation the goal stood.
Masser then
scored a vital third with Forest under pressure with a lovely
finish from an acute angle and the game looked to be over.
Elmwood scored from a set piece with 20mins left and this seemed
to unease Forest who started to look jittery. Elmwood struck
again with 15 mins left and things started to look uneasy.
However with
10 on the clock left John Masser scored after a long run down
the left, sliding the ball in from another acute angle to tie
things up and ease the nerves. Forest keeper Marcus Parsons made
some good saves to keep the lead comfortable.
