Under 7's Get Back to Winning
Ways |
After a
succession of defeats the Under 7's finally get back to winning
ways. In what proved to be, cold and windy conditions both sets
of boys started the game very positively. |
Benfleet
Villa played the better football in the first half, but the
Forest boys never stopped battling defending our goal and
limiting Benfleet to the odd effort. |
The second
half saw Benfleet pile on more pressure, however with Chris
Janes holding the strikers position well and some support coming
from midfield we always looked dangerous and more capable
especially on the break. Midway through the half saw a goal
mouth scramble and fierce shot by Benfleet just miss. |
Within a
few minutes of nearly going one nil down, our defence cleared to
Luke Mackie who dribbled past two Benfleet boys and released a
long ball onto Christopher Janes, it was now a one on one with
the last defender who Chris easily outpaced and kept his
composure to rifle the ball into the bottom left hand corner. |
With only 3/4
minutes left to play it seemed to take the wind out of Benfleet
and the boys held out for what was a well battled and deserved
victory. |

Thanks again to
all the parents for there support and well done lads. |
