U7 Lions Lose But
Spirits Still High |
In a game
that we knew was going to be our hardest test to date the boys
did us proud and never dropped their heads. |
A delayed
start, slopping pitch, questionably refereeing decisions (only
joking), and a physically bigger opposition could make it sound
like sour grapes, being its our first defeat or the type of
excuses Sir Alex would come up with. |
On a more
serious note the boys never stop battling away with the tackles
flying in fairly from all angles. Elmwood managed to take
advantage of two minor mistakes in the first half to go two up,
but the boys heads did not drop. Unfortunately we were unable to
take full advantage of the slopping pitch in the second half,
with the clock ticking down, and the game becoming more
stretched the three or four chances to get a consolation goal
which would of made for an interesting last few minutes did not
come. |
Whilst
disappointed the team talk after the game showed that the boys
had enjoyed the experience and the fact the Elmwood two previous
wins had been by larger margins showed that Forest gave a good
account of themselves and were able to leave the field with
their heads held high. |

Well done to
the boys for an honest and battling performance and thanks again
to the parents/supporters for all your support and
encouragement. |
