'Six of the Best' for Brentwood

A defensive side was set against Brentwood, being a new team, it was hard to gauge the opposition. The Half started cautiously for Forest with most of the play in the midfield. Forest pressure began to build though after five minutes, a weak shot by Luke that was half cleared by the Brentwood keeper was greeted by the follow up that had the ball firmly buried in the back of the net, 1 – 0.

The restart had every Forest player in the Brentwood half, both Jamie and Alex Oakley had shots on goal from beyond the 20 yard mark and this pressure was rewarded in the 10 minute with Luke running the ball to the right hand corner flag, a speculative shot at goal had the ball drive into the top of the goal from the most acute angle that seems to be becoming his trade mark.

This pressure continued, with run after run. Jamie and Jack Norris repealed every effort for Brentwood to break out of there half. Luke hit another goal bound shot, but was saved by an agile keeper, but Forest was now hunting in packs, and Jake followed up by a clear header for his second of the season and Forest's third.

Tom shot from 20 yards out as most of the team had some opportunity to make an impression on the games score line, but as the half closed a 32 minutes strike from 8 yards out meant Forest was 4 – 0 up at half time.

The second half had some changes made with James, Jordon and Josh joining the attack and midfield and after 18 minutes had Luke again on the attack for 5 – 0. A free kick given away on the 18 yard box lead to Brentwood’s only attempt at the Forest goal with a looping attempt that had Jack beat. This was immediately punished by a 24 minute goal from Forest that started deep in the forest half. Josh winning a tackle, wide pass to James on the wing and a short run down hill, cross in to Jack for a lay off to Luke and Forest’s sixth.
