League Cup Round 2

We started the game ok, we got a bit of luck in the first 10 mins by being awarded a penalty which we did not appeal for. But Green still stepped up and made it 1-0. This was soon followed by our second a Lineker-type poach from Aylett on the 20 minute mark. They had there fair amount of chances in the first half as did we but with some good defending and some outstanding shot stopping from A Thraves we managed to get to the break 2-1 up.

Second half was a different story with some of the best football we have played this season. From defence to attack everybody playing well but no more so than R Green. When he was asked at half-time by management to grab a goal and try and seal the game he did more than that when he went out and gave a master class in football excellence with 4, yes 4 fantastic goals. The only chance he didn’t take was not to have a sausage sandwich at full time! God only knows how many he would of scored if he was fully fit after taking a knock on his ankle last week!!!

We are through to the next round of the cup after a great second half performance. If we play like that the rest of the season I can only see the league and cup double !!!!!
