The Reds
knew they should have never have lost the last game, so,
they all ran onto the pitch determined for a win. The ball
was being quickly played towards the Copeland goal but a
strong Copeland defence were having none off it. Within
minutes of the start, James was stamped on by a Copeland
player which left James in a lot off pain and the Reds’
players looked on with worry. |
|
Troy was
playing up front and being supplied with some superb passes
from Ryan, but the ball wasn’t finding the net. Jordon and
Reece were playing out of there skins in the defence. The
tackles were spot on and Copeland knew nothing was getting
past them. Eric had little to do, only having to make a
couple off saves in the first half, but he still had to keep
his eye on the game. Tom was playing some good passes over
to James and Ryan but Copeland still found a way off
breaking the attacks down. There was a few tough tackles
coming in from Copeland but the Reds got up quick and played
on. Minutes before half time Ryan put a fantastic ball
through to Troy which he had to stretch to control and with
that the Copeland goalie was on him to save. But the keeper
couldn’t hold the ball and it came back out to Troy who this
time made no mistake with his shot and the ball flew into
the back of the net for the lead. 1-0 to the Reds. |
|
In the
second half the Reds were a lot sharper on the ball and had
a lot of chances. One of the closest saw a corner from Ryan
curled it into the box and just missing Reece’s head. |
|
8 minutes
to go and Reds had a throw which Ryan took. He threw the
ball to Tom who passed it straight back to Ryan and with
that Ryan swiftly drove the ball up the pitch taking on 2
defenders he made a super pass to James who coolly placed it
in to the bottom corner off the net making it 2-0 to the
Reds. |
|
With it
now being 2-0 Jordon, Reece and Tom all dropped back and did
there best to defend like they had never defended before,
there was no way they were going to lose it now. When the
final whistle went the boys went made and jumped all over
Paul the manager, the boys and parents were delighted. A
well deserved win |
