Great Wakering

The
Blues got off to the perfect start with a performance that left the
opposition speechless and the supporters of the Blues leaving with
huge smiles on their faces. |
|
The
players were a pleasure to watch and the fluency and quality of the
football was entertaining for all. The goals came thick and fast
making it hard to keep up with who exactly scored. Both Hewitt and
Douglas were on fire leading from the front with a hat trick each
all from open play both using their strength and pace to great
effect. Both were unlucky not to score more with Hewitt missing a
penalty in the first half after a fine save from the Wakering
keeper.
|
|
Norman scored with a fine glancing header from a superb corner by
Hewitt. |
|
After another fine corner Kay scored a well deserved goal from a
cross shot on the volley. Deaville and Pattinson added to the tally
with good strikes from within the area to round off a fine
performance.
|
|
The
whole squad played an important part throughout the course of this
match with substitutes being rolled on and off at all times
maintaining the intensity. The exciting fact was that even when the
game was well won the work rate did not falter. The midfield dynamos
Pattinson and Walsh backed up by wide players Kay, Deaville and
Norris worked tirelessly throughout ensuring that Wakering never got
settled on the ball. Oakley, Norman, Walker, Thompson and Nicklen
all did exactly what they had to breaking down any attacks and
forming the basis of attacks from midfield by accurate and timely
passing to midfield. |
|
Madsen in goal had little to do but a couple of smart saves and
strong kicking were all done proficiently.
