Forest went
into this match with high expectations, and from the first
minute showed the potential that all the coaching staff knows
the team has. After five minutes Forest had dominated the play
with some very good football, but Rockets lived up to there name
with some very quick strikers.
With one or
two members of defence slow to clear there line a Rocket striker
burst through and there only shot on the Forest goal was
decisive. 1-0. Pressure continued at the other end, but again a
break and Forest found themselves down by two.
This set the
tone for the rest of the game, with Forest being the most
dominate of the two sides yet periodically leaking goals from a
quick attack.
Towards the
end of the second half and after changing the formation to a 2
–5- 3- 1 continual pressure lead to Oliver Newton getting on the
end of a rebounded ball to restore some pride. From then on some
exquisite combination play between Alex B and Oliver on the
left, with Ade, Mathew and Harry in the centre and Robert on the
Right created chance after chance but it was not be our day. For
some brilliant defensive control of the back line, supportive
captaincy and individual skill the MoM was well deserved by
