Another
away fixture for the boys on a municipal pitch that needed a
cut, but it could not deter a spirited fight right from the
start. Some good passing play began to get going after a
couple of minutes, which brought two or three attempts on
the Wickford goal. After 3 minutes a loose ball had Alex
Bourner delightfully chip the goalkeeper for the first. |
James
Hooper joined the attack shortly after, which made an
impact after only 23 minutes, continual runs down the
right hand side for James was rewarded by a run down the
left by Alex B, supported by Thomas that saw a cross into
the box missing all the players but came to the feet of
James for his first goal and the second of the match.

In the
second half, the momentum continued, a loose ball came out
to the eighteen yard line and drilled home by Harry after
three minutes into this half. Yet again, and with no let up
in the pressure by Forest, at least a dozen chances where
laid at the feet of Harry, Thomas, Alex, James and later
Oliver with the fourth coming from Thomas to seal the game
at the 23rd minute of the half. |
|
Two
consolation goals where snatched back by Wickford but it
never seemed that Forest would be caught as three more shots
on goal where quickly Forest’s reply. |
