Forest
approached the match with Concord knowing that it would be a
finely balanced game with the two teams close to each other
in the league.
Forest
took the game to Concord from the kick off and played some
lovely passing football, with Mathew and Jamie giving the
ball wide to James and Alex at every opportunity. Both wide
men caused problems to the opponents with their pace.
However it
was Concord who took the lead with a goal against the run of
play from a corner. It was a good cross from the Concord
player into our box, but Forest were too slow to react to
the loose ball and Concord prodded the ball home. |
|
This never
affected the home team, who continued to play good football
and got their equaliser when a lovely ball from Harry split
the defence and left Tom to shoot home right footed from 10
yards. |
|
From here
on, Forest continued to push for the winner introducing
Oliver and Robert hoping they could add to the firepower,
knowing that their solid defence of Ryan, Daniel, DJ, Liam
and Reece plus Alex in goal would be able to cope with the
Concord counter attacks. |
|
Unfortunately time ran out for Forest and they had to settle
for a point.
It was a
good team performance by all the boys with Ryan getting the
vote of Man of the Match. |
