The new year kicked off for Forest by facing one of the most aggressive opponents, Rayleigh Boys, We had already lost to Rayleigh once before in the league, so we were ready to get our own back on the 6ft giants of Rayleigh boys.

The game kicked off with Forest struggling to get the ball out of there own half and failing to play our usual football. But as the game progressed our boys put on a real show, bodies were flying about, lunging in for tackles, battles were being fought and wars were being won. Even though the boys of Rayleigh were a good foot above most of our boys, our team stood their ground and fought to the death not letting them have a sniff at goal. By the end of the first half, Forest were getting the ball down and playing some very nice football but just couldn't make that final pass.

Forest entered the second half high spirited and hungry for a goal, they controlled most of the play throughout the second half, playing some great football, and creating a few good opportunities with Joe missing the target by an inch. The team was now playing fantastic football, the defence was solid as a rock, not letting a fly past, the midfield was tracking back well, putting in a few crunching tackles and also causing their midfield a few problems, and our strikers, with their lightning speed, were creating great difficulties for their defence.

We were now going all out for the win but to our disappointment 3 minutes to go Rayleigh boys slotted a ball through, our onrushing keeper did enough to stop the first shot but with the keeper of his line a lucky bounce fell to their player and they scored. We were devastated, but at the same time very proud of our performance, Unfortunately it just didn't go our way.

Well done boys we played great!
