A
disappointing day for Forest, who were knocked out of the cup by
Rayleigh boys. Rayleigh, were not necessarily the better team
but their height was a big advantage. Forest only have two or
three big lads so we just couldn’t compete with the ball in the
air. We competed well in the first half and nearly scored when
Jack M met a corner with a great volley and it went just over.
But then we went a goal down just before half time. A break down
our right side and a pull back was smashed in for them to take
the lead. |

In the second
half Forest didn’t play very well. They allowed space to
Rayleigh and let them play and they punished us. They scored a
second when a long range shot was misjudged by Matt and the ball
looped over him. Their third was a long range curler which the
keeper could do nothing about. And the fourth was swirling cross
which was met by their player at the back post. |

The main thing
now is for the boys to get their heads up and concentrate on the
league. |
