A great day for Forest as they managed to get their first league win of the season and a deserved one too against their fiercest rivals Bowers and Pitsea!

It didn’t start well though as Forest went a goal down after 3minutes. In the first half Forest didn’t really get the ball down and play their football and struggled to make a mark on the game. But we did have one good chance with Chris hitting a cracking volley just over.

But the second half was a lot better. One of the problems was their big centre back was getting the better of our strikers. So we put big Sam (our own centre back) upfront and he gave us another dimension. Within 20minutes of the second half he used his strength and pace to get past the centre and struck a shot underneath the keeper.

Bowers were now on the ropes with Mark putting wide from a cross, Smithy having a shot saved and Jack having a header cleared of the line. Then with 8 minutes left to play, Alex V, who had come on for the injured Alex S found himself on the end of a cross and he headed in to the delight of the team.

Forest held out and claimed a vital win. After going through a difficult spell this could be a turning point to Forest's season. WELL DONE BOYS!!
