Castledon Colts B

Steven Bourner's quick feet and deadly finishing ended up being the difference between the two sides after the score sat at 4-4 until 15 minutes from time. The goals started with Glade going one down after 10 mins but then hitting back with three goals in a 15 minute spell.

The first was a lovely volley from Rhys Hooper from a David Cooper corner and was then followed by a well taken Lee Mulreaney lob. Hooper then claimed another with a coolly taken finish to make it 3-1.

The game then swung back Castledon’s way when they hit two goals in a minute to make it 3-3. Just before half time Bourner sprung the offside trap and coolly slotted home for 4-3 and half time!!!

Castledon came out fired up and equalised within 5 minutes to set up a tense last half an hour.

Chances came and went but then Bourner set off on a mazy run and blasted home from an accute angle for 5-4. Amazingly he then did the same thing again and finished with equal skill, 6-4.

All in all a real fighting performance from all of the team, with Bourner and Thomas Sabberton being the pick of the outfield players, and Marcus Parsons showing real quality in goal throughout.
