Forest played
some scintilating football as they brushed aside Elmwood Colts
6-0 at Barleylands on Sunday. As early as the 6th minute they
found themselves ahead after a lovely through ball by Callum
O'Shea was dispatched by Lee Mulreany with deadly accuracy. |
|
A quick second
followed after a lovely move down the right saw David Cooper
cross for Steven Bourner to volley home. |
|
Forest
continued to play great football, with the midfield dominating
the away team and being driven on by skipper Jack Smith. A brave
finish by Rhys Hooper made it 3-0, the player receiving a lovely
set of accidental stud marks for his trouble from the keeper. |
|
A stunning
fourth by the brilliant David Cooper after a long run, made it
4-0, a strike of the highest quality. |
|
Half time
approached and on the stroke of the watch, Lee Mulreany hit an
early shot on the half volley which was too hot to handle for
the Elmwood Keeper, 5-0. |
|
After half
time Forest continued to dominate with the Forest defence of
Wild, Harrison and Croton commanding things. Slick passing from
Callum O'Shea created a lovely sixth for Steven Bourner to fire
home. |
|
After that saw
the introduction of James Woods for his league debut and he
didnt fail to deliver. His range of quality passing nearly led
to 3 more goals for the team, one feels he will be a welcome
addition to the squad. |
|
Elmwood
continued to fight however and Forest keeper Marcus Parsons kept
his concentration throughout with an excellent performance. |
